Camila Gaza Manly

These dainty, alluring images are self-portraits created by a dear friend of mine, with whom I was able to reunite with again during my stay on Vancouver Island these past couple weeks. It was the most beautiful and surreal trip, and I know that the feeling of falling asleep on the top of a cliff in the open air on Salt Spring Island and of reminiscing and drinking strawberry wine in dim light with old classmates will stay with me long after this summer comes to an end. While I often tend to romanticize most things in my mind, this really was a special kind of holiday in that every experience and connection felt a little enchanted in a way, and the beauty and the energy of the scenery and the physical landscape I was surrounded by can act as proof that it was not just all in my head.

  1. The second picture is so lovely and interesting. She almost reminds me of a doll! Love the lace framing in the first one too
